Carol and I could not be more excited about our new
responsibilities at Global Media Outreach. For those who
don’t know, GMO is a new ministry thrust by Campus
Crusade for Christ where a handful of CCC staff have
gotten together with a handful of Christian businessmen
in Silicon Valley, CA. We’ve done this in order to
utilize all the new cutting edge communication
technologies to share the gospel of salvation in Christ
and to build up those who have recently become a child
of God. My responsibilities are three fold;
ONLINE MISSIONARY
I am what we are calling an “Online Missionary,” in
other words I respond and interact with those who have
visited one of our websites and have either made a
decision to receive Christ or to recommit themselves to
a closer walk with Christ. It is truly amazing when I
think about the fact that in the last few weeks I have
interacted with individuals from all over the world:
Johnnoy from Norway, Andorra from the Federation of
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Soniya Jain from India, Naiomi
from Namibia, Delly Bux from Zambia,, Mylenareniego from
the Democratic Republic of Congo and Lachica from the:
Philippines.
How about you? If you would like to become involved in
the Great Commission and answer a few emails a month
just contact me at
danlagueccc@aol.com or go to
www.globalmediaoutreach.com.
There is a small application process and power point
training involved but it is a fantastic opportunity to
be involved in the Great Commission right from your home
computer!!!
Community Leader for Western & Eastern Europe
I am also a “Community Leader” in charge of recruiting,
training and overseeing others who are willing to become
Online Missionaries. Not only do I have a group of
people from the U.S. right now, but. I also am in charge
of finding bilingual individuals to respond to every
major language group in Western and Eastern Europe.
Right now, I have a small community who respond to
German emails and have just recruited a small community
who will respond to those who speak Hungarian.
Discipleship Websites
Finally, I am also providing
content for GMO’s various websites. Right now, I am
working on editing and reformatting the radio programs
and devotionals I have been putting together on
inspirational figures from church history. They wanted
the background music to be more upbeat than the
classical music I have done in the past. This will be
for one of our discipleship sites called
iChristianLife.com. You can listen to a few of them by
going to this link
http://www.airborneaudio.com/ClientFiles/Perspectives/
The programs will also be aired on the new web radio
station we have just begun at
iChristianLiferadio.com.
There are some interesting stats on the next page but
Carol and I want to say a huge THANK YOU for the
response to our last newsletters and the continued love,
prayers and support so many of you have shown to us.
What a privilege to live our dream of serving Christ
alongside you!!!!
GMO Statistics
Here are some interesting internet stats from all of GMO
activities on the web.
In 2008:
-
Over 12 million first
time visitors
-
More than 2 million
people indicate a decision for Jesus Christ through its Web
sites.
-
GMO volunteers have
answered more than 250,000 e-mails from people who were new
believers, recommitting their lives to Jesus or seekers who
still had questions.
-
Through GMO multimedia
platforms, every 3 seconds the Gospel is presented to someone
and every 20 seconds a decision is made for Christ.
-
If you use GOOGLE as your
search engine and type the word “Jesus” or “God” – one of our
sites should be on the first page of results.
